First Grade Gardeners

Along with the rest of the first grade classes, we have been busy planting bulbs, plants and seeds! With the help of Cheryl VanderWiele, we planted tulip and daffodil bulbs around our school sign. We can't wait to see them bloom in the spring!

Our winter gardens are already growing in our raised beds. We are looking forward to caring for our plants, helping them grow, and hopefully harvesting them during the winter.

Welcome to First Grade 2016-2017

This year has gotten off to a wonderful start! We are growing in so many ways! Already, we are better readers and writers. We are thinking like mathematicians and scientists. Most importantly, we are becoming such respectful and responsible students and friends.

Getting Ready for a New Year!

Hello on a HOT summer day! I hope that you are enjoying your time off from school. For my former students, I'm glad that you have dropped by! Are you checking out a favorite link under Milo? Be sure to come see me when school starts back, and tell me all about your summer!

Time flies!

We have recently celebrated our 100th Day of school! As we enter the final 80 days of first grade, I am so proud of the students for their efforts! They are growing in independence in reading and they are becoming masters of math facts. Most importantly, they are becoming wonderful friends and caring individuals.

Although I have not updated the photos on this page as I had planned, we use this page almost daily to access websites in class. I am updating the links below Milo to include MobyMax and other helpful websites.

Our First Week in First Grade!

Thank you so much for all of your help getting this school year off to a fabulous start! We have been busy getting to know each other, learning our new routines, reviewing skills, and having fun!

Welcome Back to First Grade!

In just a few days, a new adventure will begin in room 204 at Westminster Elementary School! Seeing so many smiling faces last week at Watermelon Welcome has made me even more excited about this upcoming year! I am looking forward to meeting the rest of our new classroom family on Tuesday, as we embark on our journey together.

Please check back frequently, as it is much easier for me to add photos from our classroom to this blog than our class website. The children will learn how to access links we use in class from this page, as well.

Greetings from Second Grade!

Welcome back! This afternoon, Jayce had a wonderful idea! He wanted to go back to the page with "the picture of Milo" so he could find all the sites that we know and love from First Grade! Since this seems to be the easiest way for me to link these websites, I decided to do this today.

Eventually, I MAY find a way to link these directly to a new page on our current web site. Since I'm technologically challenged, I may need some help! As always, please contact me if you have any questions or suggestions.
