INGLE’S TOOLS FOR SCHOOLS: Please turn in your Tools for Schools Enrollment Application. The school code is 11411. Parents have to reapply every year for the school to get the benefit of this program. Thank You!
Parent Conferences: As I am finishing assessments, I will be sending home letters to schedule conferences with each of you. Thanks in advance for your cooperation in scheduling! I am looking forward to meeting with all of you.
SLED Checks: If you are interested in being a field trip chaperone or classroom volunteer at any time this year, you will need to complete a SLED background check. The district covers the cost, but we need these forms completed. Please let me know if you would like one to fill out. This also applies to grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. who may wish to chaperone or volunteer.
Volunteers: Are you interested in being a volunteer in our classroom? If so, please just send me a note with your name and the best way to get in touch with you. We always need help with filing papers, putting up student work, and copying. As we get ready to begin our Take Home Reader program, we will need help listening to children read, choosing books, and fixing folders. Many of you have already asked, and I appreciate it! I will be in touch with you soon to set up days and times.
Behavior cards for last week will go home today. Thanks for your support of this plan! I’m seeing lots of improvement overall!
Thank you for remembering to send all money in an envelope. This includes lunch money and juice money.
SNACKS: Thank you for sending a healthy snack that can be quickly and independently eaten by your child each day. Water bottles may be brought to school for recess and snack, too.

Thank you for sending in Campbell Soup labels, Box Tops for Education, Tyson points, Nestle water bottle labels, and can tabs.
HOMEWORK: Although I am still assessing individual children on our review words, we are beginning a new list this week. Please be sure to go over reading these words with your child each day. We will all have an assessment on Friday. Thanks!
High Frequency Word List: jump, run, and, in, is, it, can, help, got, at
Language Arts: In addition to word attack skills, we are beginning to really focus on short vowel sounds and word patterns. For example, we’ve worked on words that rhyme with hot, hop, cat, and cap.
MATH: In addition to reviewing previous skills, this week we will begin reading the Fahrenheit thermometer and exploring ways to add and subtract story problems. We are continuing to work on number formation, ordering numbers up to at least 20, and comparing numbers and their amounts, using the terms “greater than” and “less than.” We’re reading number words zero-ten. We are creating and interpreting graphs.
Science: As we review months and seasons of the year, we’ll learn more about the sun and moon.
