INGLE’S TOOLS FOR SCHOOLS: Please turn in your Tools for Schools Enrollment Application. The school code is 11411. Thanks to everyone who has already done this!

Parent Conferences: I will be sending home letters tomorrow to schedule conferences with each of you. Thanks in advance for your cooperation in scheduling! I am looking forward to meeting with all of you.

Volunteers: Thanks so much to Jolie Dixon and Rhonda Finley for volunteering in our class last week! Without their help, it wouldn’t have been possible to get our Take Home Reader program off to such a good start. Thanks to all of you who have offered to help. I’m working on a schedule for the rest of the week and will be in touch soon.

Behavior cards for last week went home today. Thanks for your support of this plan! We had a record number of children with no minuses last week!!! YAY!

HOMEWORK: Thank you for working on recognizing these high frequency words. Please be sure to go over reading these words with your child each day. We will all have an assessment on Friday. Thanks!

High Frequency Word List: can, down, just, all, said, went, too, over, not, make
Please review: jump, run, and, in, is, it, can, help, got, at

FARM UNIT: For the next few weeks, we’ll be working on our Farm Unit. We’ll be reading and writing stories and non-fiction about farm animals, farm products, and activities on the farm.

Language Arts: In addition to word attack skills, we are continuing to work on short vowel sounds. This week we’ll concentrate on short i, as in chick, and short u, as in duckling.

MATH: We are beginning to work with an analog clock, also known as a face clock. We’re learning about the different hands on the clock and what they mean. We’re also working on beginning addition facts, especially +1 and sums that equal 10. We’re reading number words zero-ten.

Science: During our Farm Unit, we’ll be learning about animals and their babies, the needs of animals and plants, and products that come from farms.
