Since we had another rained out trip to the farm, we were able to make a surprise trip to the Oconee Heritage Center in Walhalla. Thanks to Nick Gambrell, we were treated to a trip through the history of Oconee County. Some of the highlights of our visit were seeing a 250 year old dugout canoe, a model of Stump House Tunnel, and picking seeds from a real cotton plant! We enjoyed listening to some banjo music and watching a virtual video of Westminster's early days. Thank you to all of our parent chaperones, as well as the staff at the Heritage Center! The center is open from noon to 5 pm Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 10 am to 3 pm on Saturdays. Free music is available the second Saturday of each month.
