THANK YOU to everyone who helped their child participate in the Book Character Parade! It was a busy Friday afternoon, but they all looked terrific!

100 Book Challenge: We need your help!! Please help your child look for books at home and in the car. We are missing several! Thank you for your help!

Congratulations to Gracie Lee and Rowan Ogg for reaching 200 steps!

Language Arts: We’re concentrating on reading for information, giving main idea and details of stories we read, and thinking about characters and settings of stories. We are reading many information books about animals and insects.

In writing, we are working on editing and revising our writing, and putting more emphasis on spelling high frequency words correctly. We’re writing fiction and non-fiction.

MATH: We are working on 3 digit numbers and place value. We’re reviewing adding and subtracting facts and story problems. We’re working hard on Rocket Math! Please continue counting combinations of coins, including quarters! This is one of the most difficult first grade skills, but it can be easy and fun to practice!

Science: We are learning about animals and their habitats. We’ll also review needs and parts of plants, and learn a little about motion.
