Thank you! Thanks to all of you who helped your child get to school well-rested and on time today! We were so ready for our MAP testing at 8:15 this morning. All of the children worked very hard and have shown growth. We’ll do the Math portion at 8:15 on Wednesday.

FIELD TRIP NEWS~ Please remember to dress for the weather on Thursday! If your child has a school T-shirt, please wear it, if possible. Otherwise, please try to wear red. Our chaperones for this trip are David Brucke, Mechelle Chandler, Angela Henderson, Crystal Marcengill, Wendy Meeks, Jill Ogg, Leslie Staggers and Kristy Davis. Thank you to all who have offered to help!

PTO News: Don’t forget to register for our Cardinal 5K or the 1 mile fun run! Every participant will receive a FREE 6 inch sub from Subway. Come out and walk then have a free healthy lunch!

Information about field day t-shirts and yearbooks are going home today.

Congratulations to JeCari for earning 300 steps!

Language Arts: We are working on our zoo animal research projects. Each child is on a team of 3 students, researching their animal’s body, habitat, food, and life cycles. We are using a variety of resources, including books and the databases from Mackinvia. Ask your child to share what he or she has already learned! If you have access to the internet, ask your child to show you what he or she is learning! We are working on building our stamina to 30 minutes of focused, purposeful reading.

SPELLING: ** I will send the spelling review tests home later this week. With MAP testing and the field trip, we will not have new words for the week.

Math: We will continue to work on the study of shapes. We will also work on identifying equal parts of shapes as an introduction to fractions.
